Work in CONCEPT

UiO is the overall coordinator of CONCEPT, as well as the leader of work package 2 – Integration of Functional Complex Oxides. In this work package, three project partners will utilise their expertise in the atomic layer deposition (ALD) technique to enable the integration of complex oxides at conditions applicable to the ICT industry. This will open for widespread use of the novel materials systems developed within the CONCEPT project – allowing the world to harvest the outcomes of the fundamental work that is carried out by other project partners.

Institution Information

The University of Oslo (UiO) is Norway’s oldest and highest ranked institution for higher education, with more than 26000 students and 7000 employees. It is a research-intensive university, with focus areas in a wide range of fields including energy science, democracy and life sciences.

Within CONCEPT, UiO is represented via the Center for Materials Science and Nanotechnology. This is a cross-disciplinary university center, joining the forces of chemists, physicists and material scientists to study materials for novel electronics, renewable energy, battery technology and catalysis, among other fields. The center has a stable lot of 100+ employees, including approximately 20 professors, and is located at the Blindern Campus of UiO.
